Forty-five years ago, a group of local singers decided to start a chorus. Turns out, once you start saying yes, it's hard to stop.
Today, I Cantori is still a homegrown chorus with a habit of dreaming big. This anniversary season celebrates forty-five years of music, community, and artistic adventure, beginning with an intimate candlelit a cappella program, followed by our annual Community Messiah Sing-Along, Bach's magnificent Christmas Oratorio, a spring Baroque collaboration, and culminating in Verdi's phenomenal Requiem.

Celebrate 45 Years of Choral Music
For 45 years, I Cantori di Carmel has brought audiences together through great choral music, from intimate a cappella programs to large-scale masterworks performed with our own professional orchestra. What began as a small group of local singers has grown into a performing arts organization that today includes our concert chorus, chamber ensemble, professional orchestra, and the I Cantorini youth chorus, while remaining true to its roots as a homegrown chorus.
Forty-five years later, we are still singing.

Whether you're hearing a beloved work again or discovering music for the first time, every concert is an invitation to listen more closely, discover something unexpected, and experience the joy of live choral music.
I Cantori is an auditioned concert chorus for singers who enjoy the challenge of great choral music and the satisfaction of performing it at a high level. Throughout the season, our concert chorus and chamber ensemble perform alongside our professional orchestra and guest soloists in repertoire that spans centuries, from Renaissance masterpieces and intimate a cappella works to newly commissioned music and large-scale choral masterworks.
Beyond our performing ensembles, the I Cantorini youth chorus, Vocal Arts Academy, and our annual Community Messiah Sing-Along provide opportunities for singers of all ages to develop vocal technique, work with experienced mentors, perform in concert, and deepen their love of choral music.
