Community

From seasoned singers to newcomers, our choir is a vibrant mix of talented and passionate volunteer singers. In addition to weekly rehearsals and performances, our members of all ages and backgrounds come together to share their love for music and grow as musicians. Whether it's volunteering at our bi-annual fundraisers or organizing social events like trips to the Monterey Symphony or the Monterey Bay Aquarium, ICDC singers receive a rich musical education while forming lasting friendships and exploring their creativity.

As part of our commitment to engaging with the wider community, the ICDC chorus and orchestra will launch an exciting new initiative with free community concerts in King City in winter 2024 and spring 2025. These performances will be the cornerstone of our mission to bring classical music to South Monterey County, where access to live music has historically been limited. But this is just the beginning—our plans include workshops, school presentations, mini-concerts, and lectures to expand our outreach and deepen our impact. We believe in the transformative power of music, and our goal is to make it just as beloved and accessible in South County as it is on the Monterey Peninsula. We aim to create and share music with our community—just as much for their enjoyment and growth as for our own.
